We avoid standard 12-to-24-word seed phrases for a simple reason: BIP44 is a textbook example of developers trying to build “a convenient standard for everyone” and ending up with an unmanageable zoo of workarounds. Often, even the programmers themselves don’t know how to correctly derive a private key from a mnemonic.
The exact same 12-word seed phrase can produce completely different addresses depending on the wallet. As an industry insider, I’ve seen this firsthand. Users get gray hair just trying to find their own funds.
So, we went back to the absolute foundation: raw private keys. A private key is identical everywhere, in any environment. And to store it conveniently and safely, you use NFC cards.
No identity checks and no pointless questions
You physically cannot be blocked by IP address or region. Registration is entirely voluntary: all you need to sync addresses between devices is an email. We don’t collect cookies, and we don’t use invasive analytics tools like Google Analytics or Hotjar.
Absolute autonomy
What happens if Mitilena’s servers shut down forever tomorrow? Absolutely nothing. Your NFC card physically holds the keys in your pocket, and our transaction-signing software works 100% offline.
You can view the raw private key for your addresses at any time (and even the mnemonic seed, if you really need it). Your assets stay exactly where they belong: under your complete control. Just save the installer (.apk, .exe, or .dmg), and you have an absolute guarantee for decades to come.
The golden rule of crypto: not your keys, not your coins. Holding assets on an exchange is like handing your cash to a stranger and hoping they’re always in a good mood and never get robbed.
-
Bank brokerages (the investment tab inside your banking app).
-
Digital neobanks (Revolut, PayPal, N26).
-
Custodial wallets and bots (Telegram Wallet).
- Staking platforms and crypto deposits (you hand over assets for yield, and when the platform goes bankrupt, your money pays off their debts)
An exchange is not your personal safe; it’s someone else’s business. When you buy crypto there, you don’t actually own it—you just see numbers on a screen. If the platform suddenly goes bankrupt, shuts down for “maintenance” exactly when the market crashes, or freezes your account over a pointless AML check, you lose everything in one click.
Real crypto only begins when the private key is physically in your hands. With our wallet, you stop asking for permission to move your own money. No limits, no compliance, no freezes.
